PRONOMES SUJEITOS (SUBJECT PRONOUNS)
São usados como sujeito da oração.
Exemplos:
I am a student at Military School.
She is American from Atlanta.
They live in São Paulo.
Podemos usar os pronomes para substituir os sujeitos ou termos da oração, já que eles também exercem o papel de sujeito.
Exemplos:
Jane studies every day for EPCAR. → She studies every day for EPCAR.
Are the engineers working now? → Are they working now?
Matheus works at Petrobras. → He works ate Petrobras.
Usamos também para respostas simplificadas.
Exemplos:
Is Roberta a nurse? Yes, she is.
Is the house painted? Ye, it is.
Are Thiago and Monica employees at Banco do Brasil? No, they aren’t.
O pronome IT é usado em várias expressões em que o sujeito não é determinado.
Exemplos:
It is hot / snowing/freezing/ cloudy/cold/ raining.
It is eight o’clock.
It is me.
It is time to be happy.
PRONOMES OBJETOS (OBJECT PRONOUNS)
Os pronomes objetos são usados como objeto do verbo.
Exemplos:
She still loves Pedro. → She still loves him.
Renan is going to visit Maracanã. → Renan is going to visit it.
Take João to school. → Take him to school.
Let’s see the dolphins. → Let’s see them.
PRONOMES REFLEXIVOS (REFLEXIVE PRONOUNS)
Os pronomes reflexivos são usados com verbos reflexivos, sendo que o sujeito e o objeto da ação são os mesmos.
Exemplos:
Talk to yourself!
They enjoyed themselves in Fortaleza.
My mother always looks at herself in the mirror.
I can’t see myself doing that.
O pronome reflexivo é usado em orações em que o sujeito pratica a ação por ele mesmo.
Exemplos:
Every morning I wash myself and brush my teeth.
The soldiers can clean the patio by themselves.
Lucas is very lazy. He always copies his friend ́s homework and
never does it by himself.
She lives by herself.
Paulo liked the film itself.
